Mr. Henderson practices in Handler, Thayer & Duggan's Advanced Planning and Family Office Practice Group. He counsels closely-held businesses and family offices (regional, national and multi-national) and their owners and executives. His experience and education focus on the interrelated disciplines of taxation, trusts and estates and employee benefits. Prior to joining Handler, Thayer & Duggan, Mr. Henderson practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in a Chicago-based public accounting firm.
Mr. Henderson's taxation expertise includes planning, analysis, transactional work, mergers and acquisitions, tax controversy and tax advantaged investments. His trusts and estates experience includes planning, administration, transfer and income taxation and succession planning. His employee benefit practice includes qualified plans, non-qualified executive compensation and welfare benefits.
Mr. Henderson earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Accounting and Finance Degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, a certificate of Certified Public Accountant from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Juris Doctorate Degree from the John Marshall Law School (Cum Laude) in Chicago, Illinois, and a Juris Doctorate Certificate in Tax Law from the John Marshall Law School. Mr. Henderson also completed his Masters of Law (LL.M.) in Taxation Degree with concentrations in Estate Planning and Employee Benefits at the John Marshall Law School.
Mr. Henderson is a member of the American, Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations, the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants.
