Ms. Williams is a member of the Advanced Planning & Family Office Practice Group at Handler, Thayer & Duggan. She specializes in comprehensive estate planning for corporate executives, private business owners, and affluent families.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Finance Degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, her Masters of Business Administration Degree with an emphasis in Finance and a Specialization in Derivatives from Loyola University Chicago, and her Juris Doctorate Degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. In addition, Ms. Williams is a Certified Financial Planner™ who helped to develop and still serves as an Adjunct Faculty Member for the Certificate in Financial Planning program at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.
Ms. Williams previously owned her own financial planning firm, Good Steward Financial Planning, and also was the Vice President of Regional Development for Lincoln Financial Advisors. For over five years, Ms. Williams served as a Financial Planning Specialist and a Director of Planning Services at Merrill Lynch. At the start of her career, Ms. Williams worked in corporate accounting.
Ms. Williams has completed the rigorous Mediation Certification Program through the Center for Conflict Resolution in Chicago and is experienced in mediating disputes or negotiations between two or more parties in almost any area, including, but not limited to, disputes or negotiations between business partners, neighbors, civic organizations, religious organizations, landlords and tenants, and family members.
Ms. Williams is a licensed attorney in Illinois, Florida and Minnesota, and she is a member of the American, Illinois State, and Chicago Bar Associations, as well as the Florida State and Minnesota State Bar Associations. Furthermore, Ms. Williams is actively involved with her parish, and she works with several human care ministries in the Chicagoland area. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Wheat Ridge Ministries, an independent Lutheran charitable organization that provides support for new church-related health and hope ministries.
